While we might not be the trendiest folks around, always a bit behind on the latest movies and conspiracy theories, we don't sweat it. We're just here to share some of the movies and shows we've been enjoying lately! Watch out, we ain't critics, nor are we interested in being pretentious with our takes!

She Came to Me - Movie (2023)

Palm Royale - Series (2024)

She Came to Me is a fresh take on the romantic comedy genre, and we love comedies, but we also know how hard it is to find a great one these days. Is anyone else obsessed with Marisa Tomei? She is SOOO good in this film! This love story is set (as per usual) in New York City. A multi-generational love story that follows a composer (Peter Dinklage) struggling with a creative block who finds inspiration in an unexpected encounter, while two young lovers challenge the notion of enduring romance to their skeptical parents. Additionally, a successful therapist (Anne Hathaway) discovers love in an unexpected and delightful way, proving that love can truly surprise us when we least expect it.

We have a CURRENT series! Apple TV is dropping new episodes every Wednesday, and we are having a lot of fun with Maxine (Kristen Wiig). In 1969, an ambitious woman sets her sights on bridging the gap between the privileged and the less fortunate, determined to secure her seat at the most exclusive and elite club in Palm Beach. Although we are confused here and have yet to find out if Maxine is malicious or totally dissociated, we aren't critics here, and we are enjoying Wiig's performance, which, assuming from the script, tends to fall a little flat in episodes 5 and 6, but she literally carries the whole show with ease. She is hilarious, and we are obsessed! We are going to stick around to keep watching Ricky Martin's performance too, nothing to sneeze at. Seriously, doesn't it feel good to imagine you're living in the Florida weather in the middle of a cold-rainy day?

Birdcage - Movie (1996)

Feeling like a throwback? This 1996 remake of the beloved French comedy 'La Cage aux Folles' (1978) has everything you need! Val Goldman (Dan Futterman) and Barbara Keeley (Calista Flockhart) nervously bring their respective families together. Val's father, Armand (Robin Williams), who runs a drag club in Miami, pretends to conceal his true identity as a gay man and his relationship with Albert (Nathan Lane), the club's fabulous star, to please Barbara's dad, Republican Senator Kevin Keeley (Gene Hackman). With its Florida flair, this film promises entertainment and laughter—a perfect modern spin for a weekend watch!

Baby Reindeer - Mini Series (2024)

This one might already have you glued to your screen! Is it a dark comedy? According to its synopsis, this show is a thriller based on a true story, portrayed by its victim Richard Gadd, who acts as Donny, a slightly fictionalized version of himself. 'Baby Reindeer,' originally a one-man stage play premiered at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won two awards. The storyline follows the writer and performer Richard Gadd's twisted relationship with his stalker and the profound impact it has on him, ultimately forcing him to confront a deeply buried trauma. A horror story veiled in the cloak of comedy, we admit we haven't finished it, but it surely offers a painful yet compelling viewing experience.
